Diala El Masri
Animatrice
I am a Neurosciences PhD candidate at Université de Montréal conducting my research at the Centre de recherche du CHUM (CRCHUM). My research looks at how immune cells slip into the brain and interact with stressed cells in the central nervous system to fuel inflammation in Multiple Sclerosis. Using animal models, I study ways to interrupt that harmful conversation and point toward new therapies. My research trains me to clarify complex mechanisms, distill evidence, and connect results to real-world impact; skills I bring to science animation. I care just as much about how we talk about science as the data itself. That’s why I’m excited about InitiaSciences; being a member gives me the chance to transmit what inspires me and to make science feel welcoming, simple, and not gated! If we explain it well, more people can use it to make sense of their world
