Marcos Yedjenou
Chairmanship
Marcos Yedjenou is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) with a Master of Research in Biochemistry and a Master of Science in Toxicology. His areas of research are experimental medicine and public health. He is interested in the analysis of environmental toxicological risk to human health in disadvantaged communities. His research aims to understand the toxicity of environmental contaminants and their effects on human health, with a view to making recommendations to reduce health risks. As part of his doctoral project at Université Laval, his research activities focus on exposure to methylmercury, a chemical contaminant of concern, present in traditional Inuit food in Nunavik in northern Quebec. Marcos is also conducting laboratory experiments to generate evidence on the pharmacological properties of selenoneine, a potential antidote to methylmercury.
