After obtaining a degree in forestry engineering in Bordeaux (France), I crossed the Atlantic to pursue a doctorate in forestry science at Université Laval. I specialized in forest pathology, in other words, I try to understand the diseases that affect trees, to better protect forests.
But my love of science doesn't stop at trees and laboratories. During my studies, I had the opportunity to give private lessons to high school students, who were often a little intimidated by scientific subjects. Showing them that science isn't a closed world or reserved for "those in the know" was a real eye-opener. With the right words, the right examples, and a little patience, everything becomes clearer, and sometimes even fascinating! That's exactly what InitiaSciences does for me: it gives me the opportunity to share, in a simple way, what I'm passionate about. Bringing science to life, making it concrete and accessible.
It's this desire to share and pass on that made me want to join InitiaSciences. Because science is also a way of understanding the world around us and opening up to others.
